Publish your notes to your WordPress blog

You keep a WordPress blog? Connect it to Keepsake once, and any note can become a blog post — without copy-pasting. A small window lets you adjust the title, choose between draft and published (immediately or scheduled), and pick your blog's categories. Your images are transferred into your site's media library, and if you rework the note later, the same button updates the post. Writing stays in Keepsake; publishing happens on your blog.

Connect your WordPress site

The connection takes one click and no password to copy. It works with any WordPress 5.6+ site served over HTTPS — including self-hosted blogs.

Open your WordPress settings

In Keepsake, go to Settings → WordPress blog. Enter your site's address (for example https://mysite.com) and click Connect.

Authorize Keepsake on your site

Your site opens and asks you to authorize an application called “Keepsake” (sign in to your WordPress admin if needed). Approve, and you're sent back to Keepsake — connected. This uses WordPress application passwords: a dedicated key your site creates for Keepsake, separate from your real password.

You're connected

The settings card shows “Connected to yoursite.com”. Credentials are stored encrypted and only used to talk to your blog. Disconnect anytime from the same card — and you can also revoke the “Keepsake” application password from your WordPress admin.

Tip

If the one-click flow doesn't work on your site (some hosts disable the authorization screen), use the “Manual connection (application password)” link below the field: create an application password in your WordPress profile and paste it with your username.

Send a note to your blog

Once connected, a WordPress button appears in the actions bar of every note. It opens a small publishing window — adjust, confirm, done.

Check the title

Keepsake pre-fills the Title from your note: its explicit title if it has one, or its first heading (which is then removed from the body — no duplicated title on the blog), or its first line.

Draft or published, now or later

Choose the Status: Draft creates a draft to review in your WordPress admin; Published puts it online. With Published you can also schedule: pick “At a specific date” and WordPress will publish it automatically at the chosen time.

Pick your categories

The Categories field lists your blog's own categories, most-used first. Type to filter, click to select — or type a new name and hit Create: the category is created on your blog at send time.

Review or view

After sending, a button takes you straight there: “Open the draft” (your WordPress admin) or “View post” (the live article), depending on the status you chose.

Tip

Start with drafts. You keep your blog's final review habits, and nothing goes live without you.

What arrives on your blog

Keepsake converts your note to clean HTML — the same rendering as “Copy as HTML” — so it looks right in any WordPress theme.

Your formatting is preserved

Headings, bold, lists, checkboxes, quotes, links — everything your note contains in Markdown arrives as proper formatting on the blog.

Images move into your media library

Photos stored in Keepsake are uploaded to your WordPress media library and the post uses those copies — your article doesn't depend on Keepsake to display its images. If an image can't be transferred, the post keeps a direct link to it instead.

Internal note links stay private

Links between your Keepsake notes are for you; they're rendered as plain text on the blog, never as links to your private workspace.

Update a post you already sent

A note remembers the WordPress post it created. Rework your note, then push the changes — no duplicates.

The button becomes a menu

On a note already sent, the WordPress button offers “Open in WordPress” and “Update…”. Update re-sends the current content to the same post.

Change status on the way

Updating reopens the same window — so you can turn a draft into a published post, adjust the schedule, or change categories at the same time.

Tip

This pairs well with the notes pipeline: write and refine in Keepsake, send a draft when it's close, publish from Keepsake when it's ready.
